WestCoast Wilds

This private charter takes you into area on the west coast of Vancouver Island few have seen. The diversity of marine life on Vancouver Island south western side is unbelievable. Here you are truly one with nature... witness up to 50 Humpback whales feeding off Swiftsure Bank. The pelagic bird life is more than abundant. It leaves you with the feeling of traveling back a hundred years to really witness the true biodiversity of Vancouver Island.

Photography Safaris

Our lead captain and owner Simon Pidcock is an avid wildlife photographer. He leads all of our private photography charters. All of the photographs on this website and in our gallery were taken on our tours by Simon. He has the uncanny ability to place the boat in the perfect spot to capture those "once and a lifetime shots."

Saturna Island Winery Tour

Vancouver Island whale watching

This exciting tour combines the thrill of a west coast boating adventure with a visit to one of BC's most unique vineyards and winery. After enjoying a one hour breathtaking scenic tour of Haro Strait the year round home of the Dall's Porpoise. You will disembark on Saturna Island, the second largest and least populated Gulf Island. Once on the island, which is home to a protected Peregrine Falcon nesting site, you will have the pleasure of experiencing a unique vineyard and fully operational winery.

Nestled between the Pacific ocean and a massive sandstone and granite cliff face, Saturna Island Vineyards is a great way to witness the ambitious endeavors of local island residents. Following your excursion throughout the vineyard and winery you will once again enjoy the scenic waterways of Vancouver Island as Ocean Ecoventures transports you back to Cowichan Bay.

This unique marine journey is specially designed to blend an exhilarating boating adventure with the opportunity to experience the brilliant and world-renown Butchart Gardens. This splendid 55 acre floral display has captivated thousands of people for over 80 years. (Over a million people visit each year). Transforming an old worked-out quarry site into an elaborate landscape of colour and grandeur in 1904, Jennie Butchart has created a dazzling living entity that has earned an international reputation for it's year-round display of flowering plants.

Over one million bedding plants representing over 700 varieties are used annually to ensure uninterrupted bloom from March through to October. The Butchart Gardens Tour is recommended for those who want to witness the west coast splendor of the Gulf Islands from the comfort and safety of our rigid hull inflatable boat, as well as for those who want to experience a unique and grandiose natural attraction.
