Encounter Two Species of Killer Whales, Humpback Whales, Sea Lions & Bald Eagles while Glamping in the Gulf Island National Park Reserve
Come and explore the Orcas of the Salish Sea. The Salish Sea is known for being one of the best places in the world to encounter killer whales. Two distinct species of Orca are encounter year round in these nutrient rich waters as well as almost daily sightings of humpback whales in our spring summer and fall months.
There is no better way to experience the Salish Sea sunsets than gourmet expedition camping in the Gulf Island National Park Reserve. Wake to Orca or Humpback Whale blows are they swim right by our expedition style base camp.
Day 1 – Meet your Captain and Vessel at 11am in Cowichan Bay B.C. Meet your fellow guests and have a trip briefing before heading out on the Salish Sea to your base camp. Get settled in at the base camp have lunch and then head out in search of Orcas and Humpbacks. After our whale and wildlife encounters back to the base camp for a gourmet dinner.
Day 2 – An early breakfast followed by a full day on the water with the whales and wildlife of the Salish Sea. Enjoy a packed lunch in a secluded bay and travel to Smith Island in search of Tufted Puffins. Arrive back at the base camp for an early dinner before heading out for some epic sunset whale watching.
Day 3 – Head out after an early breakfast to spend the morning searching for Orcas, Humpbacks and Minke Whales. Explore the hidden waterways of southern Gulf islands then stop for lunch on one of our Canadian Gulf Island’s restaurants. Arrive back in Cowichan Bay at 4 pm, unload the boat, and say good-bye to your new friends!
