Lance
Lance has been with Ocean Ecoventures since 2011. Lance came to Vancouver Island by way of Alaska.Lance has had a lifelong love affair with the ocean since first heading out fishing in the waters off of Kodiak, Island at age nine.
In Lance’s teenage years he spent time working in different aspects of the commercial fishery, and at age twenty he began commercial fishing full time. Lance’s career as a commercial fisherman took him out to the Bering Sea where he fished for King Crab and all the way down into Southeast Alaska and Northern BC where he participated in the herring fisheries.
When Lance began as a captain and naturalist for Ocean Ecoventures in 2011, he also began working as a captain in the prawn and crab fisheries of Southern Vancouver Island. Lance has truly found his place in life as a whale watching captain, and plans to be spending his days with whales indefinitely. Lance lives in Cowichan Bay with his wife Colleen, his two year old son Elaiss and his cat Cosmo.
