Ocean EcoVentures is a part of the largest whale sightings network in British Columbia. Last year our sightings network had over 28,000 sightings logged. Our network is comprised of other whale watching companies, whale research groups, social media whale sightings groups and various marine traffic groups that all work together and share sightings. This really helps our captains have the most up-to-date sightings information in the Salish Sea. In 2023 our sightings record was just over 96% with only a few no whale tours.
The whales we view can travel up to 100km in a 24 hour, they are continuously moving even while they are sleeping. So everyday on the Salish Sea is a new day and our captains are some of the best whale spotters on the coast.
On the off chance you do not encounter a whale on one of our whale watching tours we invite you to come again for free.
Ocean EcoVentures extends a free stand-by tour to the few passengers who do not see a whale/whales on their tour. Our whale guarantee is a complimentary, non-transferable and on a stand-by basis.
